Dishwasher smells like pond water+ dirty water in salt area

Both my son and I had this issue...different water areas so nothing doing there. We tried all the usual stuff..pipes, using vinegar, various proprietary mixes, stripping all the gubbins out and cleaning. All to no avail.. more by accident than design we tried putting half a lemon in the utensil...

    baxi 105e - again!

ok, thanks for your reply.. I have to admit to getting a bit bitter and twisted as I've always had helpful advise from the site in the past. I've ordered a new micro-switch which may or may not be part of the cause but it was a suggestion from another site.. I fear its more likely to be a...

    baxi 105e - again!

Hi, I've got a baxi 105e which is causing me some issues. It started with the DHW going cold and then hot again then cold again. I cleaned out the DHW HE to no avail so bought a new one and fitted that to no avail. The hot/cold thing only happened intermittently. Recently the 60 degree light is...

    Electrolux oven door seal

We have an Electrolux electric double oven, Model EOD983X2 / 944171091 . Just recently we noticed that hot air was coming out from around the main oven door. After checking the door seal and finding it to have deteriorated somewhat I bought an authentic replacement from Electrolux. After looking...

    Garage door and insulation

Its simply for the garage door. Last year it got very cold so I used cardboard to try to keep the cold out. As you say I don't think the foam idea is feasible. I'll have a look at using metal backed polystyrene foam slabs instead. Thanks for your help

    Garage door and insulation

HI, I have an uninsulated garage door...ie bare metal. Do you think it would be possible to use the foam stuff they use for filling in around holes in brickwork to give it a coating which would provide insulation? Regards Al

Old phone wires coming into house

Thanks.. I do not have any wired extensions as such. The phones are panasonic cordless ones of which I have three including the base station. We were getting a lot of noise on the line so I disconnected the Sky box and the burglar alarm from the socket. whereupon the noise seemed to disappear...

Old phone wires coming into house

Thanks for these replies. The issues I had with the BB have been sorted so I have no problems with that. It's the myriad of connections which I would like to sort out. Ideally I suppose it would be better to bring the wires into the living room rather than through the porch then the hall then...

Old phone wires coming into house

Hi, I've got what I think are very old telephone wires supplying the service to my house. The is a thick cable with numerous wires in it but only two are used (they do not seem to be twisted pairs). One is solid white and the other is solid orange. Other not connected wires are 3 yellow, 1 black...

    Baxi 105e always on - wi-fi thermostat

I decided to ring the manufacturers (Ravenheat) prior to sending the unit back to the suppliers. They could not have been more helpful. The guy I spoke to (Matt) stayed on the phone and talked me through setting it up and programming it. It seems the documentation is not as good as it could be...

    Baxi 105e always on - wi-fi thermostat

Thanks Jamsie, I had a look and basically its the same wiring etc.. I've had another go at getting it to work but have decided life is too short and am returning the faulty item for a refund. I'll fit a digital wired room thermostat instead.

Bosch Washing Machine lost ALL power

Although I'm no expert in these things a few things to check maybe. Is the fuse actually ok? how did you check it? an easy way is to take a fuse out of a working appliance (must be 13amp as washing machines takes a heavy load). Have you checked the socketis working, again try a working...
