thanks for speedy response! Unfortunately dpm lapped up walls and overlapped with dpc as building regs required - so cant knock a hole without ripping through dpm! Any other ideas without having to buy (rent wud end up being too long term and so too pricey) a puddle sucker?

Hi all - at risk of sounding like a daft female... I am currently building a kitchen extension, and are at the stage of 8 courses above dpc. Concrete slab over dpm in, and waiting to lay final screed over cellotex 'til the end of the build. Problem is the oversite level sitting 4" below dpc...

At the risk of sounding thick (and working from my knowledge of roof insulation and the need to prevent rafters transferring the cold), if the walls are fully insulated, how are they creating a cold bridge?

Hi! In the process of redecorating our bedroom, and have noticed that our lined chimney breast above the open fire in our 1950's house smells of smoke. It's not filling the room or anything terrible, it just smells when you get in close proximity to the plaster from about a third of the way up...

we've found the cold temperature at the mo delayed our grout from setting as fast as it should. A heater in the room made a huge difference (as theres no central heating in the area yet)
