Thank you for your post, of the posts my topic received your one was about the only post I drew any kind of help from. I felt demonised in not knowing any different and after getting so far with the house it really knocked the joy off showing people how happy we have been in doing our first...

First Time Buyer - Project One!

Ah well, I can't see it causing us or anyone else any problems. A lot of this stuff seems a bit interfering when it comes down to it.

First Time Self Build - No Experience !!

Nice to see something like this going on and I admire your approach. Nuts and bolts and bricks and wood, get stuck in! You're a hands on chap then I take it and always eager to get involved?

We're happy with the work, like I keep saying this is what has already been done and the house is most of the way to being complete now! What defines a safe zone anyway?

We are living here! Cheeky!! Yes, this is how it was when we got the keys. I'll update later with some of the "works in progress" and ahem. ... "finished" rooms. ... my other half still disputes at what point a job is finished. I say it's when you finish the job you set out to do. . . . she...

First Time Buyer - Project One!

We bought a house in June 2009 after a long two month exchange of will power! It was a repo, came on the market a fair bit cheaper than the year before when we first saw and wanted it. At the time, the pink crab apple blossom infront of the white washed house stole our hearts and minds. Wasn't...

Greetings one and all, could not find a Welcome?Introductions page. If I have missed it then I am sure one of the Mods will soon move it for me? I am a 30yo bloke in Wiltshire, bought my first place last year with hers truly. It's (we think) a 1760's end terrace which was once part of next...

    Loft Insulation/Flooring/load bearing etc

I have read through some of the topics here via search engine results and I have found some very knowledgeable folk here. So much so, a lot of it does somewhat baffle me as my skills are directed towards farming and not houses! I have recently removed all of the old insulation from our loft...
