    Boiler flue into existing chimney

resurrecting an old thread, i know but..... this commend by simonds 'You could fit a new Worcester FS 30CDi with their flue liner kit up the chimney. However, because it draws combustion air from the top of the chimney, adjacent flues in the same chimney cannot be used as the air at the top...

Installing cistern so that Toilet seat does hit flush button

Here are some pictures. I'm trying to get the push button aligned with that hole in the plastic cistern. It has just occured to me that perhaps I should be making another cut out/hole in the cistern and routing the blue plastic cable outside of the cistern and then into the back of the button...

Question on waste pipe to a WC

Hello- Now I realise that this question will probably result in me getting a lot of well deserved abuse - as I think i've been a bit of a numpty - but i'll ask anyway. I'm replacing the WC and have moved things around a bit. So when it came to re-connecting I ended up using an assortment...

thanks for the comments... I tried a rad tail - that did not help. A local engineering outfit would be ideal - except they are thin on the ground around here, tend to not be open when you want i.e. weekends or evenings ...and I have a day job! Steve

Damaged/poor thread in a radiator - how to clean up?

I bought the rad 18months ago from screwfix and have just got around to fitting it. What I've found is that one of the end caps supplied with the rad won't screw into the rad as the thread in the rad is prr. So what I need is an appropriate cutting tap/chaser to clean out & re-make the...

Making a ledge in a shower

I want to build a ledge in a shower cube i'm making. The tray is 800mmx800mm. However, to give a bit more room in the shower, i've made the shower recess 800mm x 1000mm approx. The plan is then to tile the extra 800x200mm as a ledge at about 300mm off the shower tray level. This ledge can be...

    application x-reference

Does anyone know of an application x-reference for car spares? I remember years ago looking at a book that listed all such information - useful if you want to buy a part for your 'expensive model' car by insteady buying the equal part of a cheaper car. Steve
