My smoke alarm had been beeping about every couple of minutes. I was told that it was a sign that the battery was wearing out, so I replaced it with a newly bought battery and the same happened. So I replaced that battery and the same thing is happening again. Any ideas what's happening please?

Just bought a Bosch washing machine but there seems to be some white residue on the inner grey seal. What concerns me is that this might be a secondhand machine. Mentioned this before but it's still a pain! A leak has occured at the base of the toilet bowl on the floor. It only occurs once evey few weeks and its driving me nuts as I've no idea where it's coming from. Before anyone asks, no I havent been missing the bowl :(
