BAL mosaic tile adhesive & painted walls

Glad to be of help Pam :) Lord knows I've had plenty of it from many people on this site, nice to have a reply saying I've given something back :D Hope your tiling goes well. Agree with you 100% Moz, all I've ever used and always turns out spot on.

    Grouting finish problem?

Was it a premixed grout or out of a bag with an additive? I've used the powder with admix before and if you don't get equal mixes each time the admix affects the finished colour. I found it better to mix the grout all in one go to get an even finish, but then you've gotta work quickly.

BAL mosaic tile adhesive & painted walls

Just for completion, I left the paint on - stuck like s*** to a blanket! Would thoroughly reccomend BAL mosaic adhesive for the little fella's, no slip at all and really nice to work with.

BAL mosaic tile adhesive & painted walls

Anyone used this stuff before to tile onto painted surfaces? I'm putting a mosaic splashback in the kitchen on recently plastered walls with a mist coat of emulsion & two coats of zinsser mould resistant paint on them (water based acrylic & latex). Paint seems to be well stuck, but don't know if...

    LED lamp in GU10 Luminaire

Cheers Adam, guess it would be a bit poor, but just need to shed a little light into an understairs cupboard. Worried about heat being an issue in an enclosed space. Will hunt for a cheaper one too

    LED lamp in GU10 Luminaire

right, just seem to remeber sheds making a point once about GU10/GZ10 bulbs having the same connections but if you get the wrong one it would be really bad if the lamp wasn't suitable as it could melt. My train of thought is that LED's don't produce much heat so not an issue, but don't want to...

how to repair cut TV ariel cable??

It may be the cable was cut to add a booster into the line due to poor signal, previous owners tend to forget about them until moving day and chop them out instead of unwiring in the rush to get out... :?

    Just one more cooker question!

Cheers Adam, CCU does have a socket on it so will need the 32Amp breaker. Then would changing the outlet plate to a FCU with a 13amp fuse be better or just stick with the plug & socket. I know plug sounds easier but decent plug & socket will cost more than an FCU! (No Plug on oven I got given)...

    Just one more cooker question!

Previous owners had a big range cooker on 6mm sq cable from CU 40 amp MCB via cooker connection unit. I only have a donated 2.6KW oven as can't afford what they took out. As this works out as drawing 11.3amp would I be best to just plug it in through a 13amp plug or can I replace the MCB for a...

Are the old ones still the best?

Cheers for that matey, it's only got 5 buttons - that's £1.00 a button! If it's a combined service manual I'd get it, but think I've nailed everything a user guide covers. Thing that's started my brain ticking now is this washer has no front access to clean the filter, depending on how bad...

Tiling, bare plasterboard or with a skim of plaster

Don't know about Topps' own brand, but all I'll say is from my experience of tiling finishing on a Saturday after tile distributers had shut.... BAL Rapidset adhesive 25kg from tile distributers £28 inc. VAT BAL Rapidset adhesive 10kg from Topps £26 Inc. VAT ....enough said! All for...

Are the old ones still the best?

Hi peeps, Will try to keep this short & sweet first.... My situation is I've been given a washing machine from a friend (Hoover AC328), can't find manuals for it, know little about it but that he said he'd had no bother with it apart from a leaky hose which I've changed. Problem lies in...

    ceilings

all my ceilings were really bad, so had them all skimmed along with the walls. When I got to the box room however I'd run out of time and cash so scraped off the loose paint, raked out & filled the cracks with ultra light filler (spackling), gave a light sand, filled a little more, sanded...
