Hi thanks for the replies, There is a receiver next to the boiler screwed to the wall. A local engineer has suggested a new thermostat and receiver will need to be bought and engineer to wire in receiver to the boiler . He has quoted £140-£150 to supply and fit .Does this seem a reasonable price ?

Thanks for your reply Johnny 2007 I am a little surprised that the quote didn't mention replacing lead flashing. If this is the case I feel this quote is on the high side from your quote.

Thanks for the comment. So to make it clear to me the plume kit moves this slightly acidic vapour to a point higher up in the port. Would the car still be able to go into the port and would it affect neighbours adjoining port which would be approx 3m from the discharge of the plume management kt.

I would definitely use a gas safe engineer to fit plume deflector kit. This could well be the answer to my problem. Does anyone know how good these kits are and do they stop all pluming ?

Thanks for the advice picasso this boiler operates intermittently and can work sometimes for 20 mins I would guess that the pump either works or it doesn't or is that a very simplistic view .
