(Bristan smile) electric shower no pressure, but heat.

I'm sure this is a really stupid question, sorry. I'm a mechanic so I can use screwdrivers, but I don't know much about electric showers. The short: PRD blew. Removed large amount of lime scale from heater tank and replaced PRD. Now the shower runs and produces hot water, but it's quiet and...

    Bosstherm RF thermostat swap?

I have one of those dreadful Bosstherm (Seimens) RF thermostats that constantly loses connection and is dreadful in general. I'm fairly DIY/wiring savy but haven't done a thermostat before. Questions: 1. Can anybody recommend a less bad RF thermostat to replace the Bosstherm (boiler is Ideal...

Alloy wheel buckle advice (wife's car...)

Yeah; this is my concern about buying further wheels. Although I'm sure Honda wheels would be more robust than these ones!

Alloy wheel buckle advice (wife's car...)

Hello! My wife just bought a car with stupid aftermarket alloys (TSW). There is a vibration at 60mph+ so I took it in for alignment and balance. Both were out, but they said the allows are all buckled. The car is far better now, but there's still some vibration due to the buckles. Worth...

Phone extension failing wire by wire. Why? (er)

Yeah, it's all done properly. It's weird. The cable isn't under pressure or tension. Very odd. Just changed the wiring to use yet another pair, and it's all back and running. Problem is that I've now run out of pairs!

Phone extension failing wire by wire. Why? (er)

When I did the floor and skirting, I took a phone cable from the back of the master socket (as normal) and ran it round behind the skirting to the other side of the room to keep things tidy (that's where the main sockets/router etc are). About 6 months ago we had a mystery phone issue that...

    Recon module from EMW wierdness.

Sent the board back to EMW. EMW implied that my washer had a faulty motor which had fried their board. EMW said the board was rare and couldn't help further. Bought a used board from Ebay immediately after coming off the phone to EMW. Fitted used board to washing machine, and...

    Recon module from EMW wierdness.

There plugs for the module all only fit at a single point so there's not much scope for error. I connected the fried board and although it doesn't work properly I don't get any of the weirdness to the recon must be duff. How annoying! Wife is ready to kill me! :(

    Recon module from EMW wierdness.

No. I mean that I turn the power off at the mains, then the display lights up and says 'power on'. Then the display goes off again, obviously as there is no power. But the display DEFINITELY shows 'power on' AFTER the power is off. Weird, isn't it? Surely a duff recon module?

    Recon module from EMW wierdness.

A slug got into the control module of my WMUD962 Hotpoint Ultima and fried some circuits while on timer/standby. Just got a recon from EMW. Fitted it. Turns on ok, then I start a wash it goes on/off/on/off etc with the water intake then the display goes off. Then I turn the power off...

    Hotpoint WMUD962 Ultima dead.

It's carnage. Loads of gold circuit up from it's track, at least a couple of chips burned out. :( Can't find a replacement for sale online at all. Wife's car has just shed it's exhaust. Brilliant. :( x 10.

Where to buy a Hotpoint washing machine control module?

A slug exploded my WMUD962 washing machine control board. Is this something that is impossible to buy unless you're a Hotpoint engineer?

    Hotpoint WMUD962 Ultima dead.

2 years and a bit old. Had it on timer (as usual) last night. When I came down for work, earlier than it was set (so it should still have been on timer) it had tripped the consumer unit. Detripped the consumer unit and the washing machine is completely dead. No lights, no beeping...

Engineered floor hollow spot injection? glue/filler type?

It has always been like that. Its just a slight hollow in the concrete I would think. Just want to know what the beat option for injection is. It's about 100mm square.

Engineered floor hollow spot injection? glue/filler type?

Hello! I have some nice engineered oak floor down. It has a couple of hollow spots. I understand that drill/inject is a standard fix, but I can't find any 'kits' in available in the uk, and I'm not certain about the best thing to inject? The floor is engineered oak on concrete. I...

Interior wall paint 'pitted' (orange peel). What to do?

Hello! The new house we moved into has brilliant white in the front room. The walls catch the light and have 'pitted' patches (like orange peel). Is there any way to get rid without having to skim? What caused this to start with? The pitting isn't in the plaster, just the paint and...

    Wonky radiator.

:D Thanks, I was hoping for something a little less extreme than draining the system (presumably neccesary?) and cutting the pipes... With floorboards you could just jiggle it! :(
