    Flying ants in kitchen

After reading more about it, seems like they might be flies. I'm not sure how deep the gap is. I guess its deep because the waste pipe goes into the entire width of the brick. So would the sealent be able to adhere properly to anything?

    Flying ants in kitchen

What type of exterior sealent would be best to use? I've read that gaps larger than 1 cm require filler rather than sealent. The gap does seem to be larger than 1 cm in length.

    Flying ants in kitchen

Recently, we have a problem in which there are flying ants in the kitchen. Most of them appear on the floor near the wall and the kitchen sink. I think the flying ants are getting in through a gap around the water waste pipe as there is a big gap around the pipe. I've attached a photo that...

I'm looking for some 6ft high fence panels that are good quality. And would like some advice please. Looking online on sites such as Wickes, even for the highest rated fence panels (Forest Garden) people say they've experienced problems with the panels warping, bowing, etc.. within just a...

    Choosing suitable bath taps?

I have a question about buying bath taps separately then hiring a plumber to fit them. Are bath taps usually a standard size, so there should be no issue of it being an incorrect size for the bath? My question is based on separate hot and cold taps such as Bristan Lever taps, not a mixer tap.

    Interior door - Loose hinge

Thanks. Do you know if they are sold in low quantity anywhere? As I only need screws for one hinge. And most places sell boxes of screws. I had a look on accu.co.uk but I could only see Torx or Ponzi type screws.

    Interior door - Loose hinge

I've got a problem of a loose hinge on an interior door. The screws have come away from the door. The screws look rusty and old so need to be replaced with new screws. What size head diameter and length of screw would be suitable for a standard sized interior door? I've measured the width of...

    Jury Service

Does that mean you can't take your phone into the courtroom even if its switched off and in your pocket? In this video, the guy said in the comments that there are only so many lockers. So it seems only some people can get a locker.

    Jury Service

I don't really. I don't have any training in law and I've never stepped into a court room in my life. So I wouldn't be confident about doing it. It seems it's only for reasons such as medical reasons why someone can be excused.

    Jury Service

I see. The confusion is, I read a comment where someone said if someone doesn't want to do jury service then they should not register to vote. So it appears they misunderstood then if everyone is automatically on the electoral roll.

    Jury Service

I recently got a letter telling me I've been summoned for Jury service. I read that people are chosen randomly from the electoral roll. But I've never voted before or registered to vote. Has anyone here been chosen for Jury service even if you've never voted?

Paint roller for Zinsser Perma-White Anti Mould paint?

What paint brush did you use? I contacted Zinsser. They said they recommend using a short to medium pile mohair roller. I searched online for mohair rollers. Hedge trimmer power cable - New plug?

The hedge trimmer is a Bosch 450 watts. According to what someone said in the comments in this video, to open the trimmer it requires a T20 Tor-X screwdriver to remove 10 screws. Then also requires a T20 screwdriver to take a screw out from the middle. When they say it needs a T20 for the...

Hedge trimmer power cable - New plug?

The section of the power cable that is broken is near the hedge trimmer. So if using a two pin connector, it wouldn't be on the ground while the hedge trimmer is in use. Would the best option then be to repair the power cable instead and cover it with heat shrink tubing? Or is it okay if the...

Hedge trimmer power cable - New plug?

Recently, a family member accidently cut the power cable when using a hedge trimmer. I've looked for tutorials on how to repair the power cable, but they say it requires things such as a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing. So I'm thinking, it might be best just to cut the power cable where...

    Door trimming service?

I live in the Nottingham area. I had a look online again. I see there's a company that does door trimming for £35 per door which seems a good price. However, I can't find any reviews for the company. Should the lack of reviews not matter as its a small job...
