    Chipboard hole in ensuite.

Thanks for your message. It's really not that big a bulge tbh. I think I will just fill, sand and lay plywood. Would cement board be better?

    Chipboard hole in ensuite.

Would it be better to use cement board? What should I do about the hole and the surrounding area which has slightly bulged? If I cut it out how could I put something in it's place because there's nothing to screw it onto?

    Chipboard hole in ensuite.

The chip board which was under laminated in our ensuite has some water damage in one small area where the shower was. I want to lay karndean on the floor. Do I need to rip up all the floor in the room, or can I somehow patch the hole, which I made bigger to find the problem? It's a small area...

    Re-laying Paving Slabs

I've taken up 6 paving slabs as there was a gap opening up. 3 I have taken up with the concrete underneath (and taken off what I can) and 3 which I have managed to peel off the concrete as there was no way I was going to pull out from underneath. I want to re-use the paving slabs so it still...

How close can two elbow joints be?

Thanks. If I used two of these connected, what would I then use to connect the male end to a 15mm pipe?

How close can two elbow joints be?

Hi, How close can two elbow joints be? I want to put the pipe into the wall and need to create a 90 degree turn before coming back to original direction straight away. I am using elbow joints with solder already in them so I just need to heat up. Can I have them up against each other like in...

    Tiling onto Plasterboard without skim

I've removed some tiles. Is it okay to re-tile onto plasterboard, without the skim on top? Any tips on what I should be doing? Photo attached.

    Tile Slither

I've left 6 mm space around the edge of the walls (which is fine because I'm putting panelling and skirting over so will hide) but around the door, can I put the tile right up to the door architrave or does that defeat the point of the space around if one part of the tile is touching the architrave?

How flat is flat, and have I messed up?

I have a small downstairs toilet which I am tiling. It's only 1.78m long by 0.8m wide. Where the toilet was there is a small bump in the floor. I am laying 45x45cm so 8 tiles will cover the whole floor. On the right half of the floor the floor is flat, but around the old toilet area if I put a...

    Tile Slither

I have a tile slither (can't think of better term) of about 2.5cm x 5.6cm which will be on the left hand side of the door frame. Am I asking for trouble here in terms of it breaking off? I could theoretically cut another tile so that there will be 5.6x 5.6cm square but actually that would be...

    Cut around waste pipe?

Thanks for letting me know. Do I put adhesive right up the wall or leave a 7mm gap all around the edges with no adhesive there?

    Cut around waste pipe?

I'm laying floor tiles and the corner of one is on the corner where a waste pipe is. Should I cut around the waste pipe or is it okay to just cut a square off the corner? I can't really actually cut all the way round any-way as there would just be a little 1cm sliver on the left hand side. Also...

    Tiling onto concrete

I'm tiling onto concrete floor downstairs toilet. Room is small (using large tiles 45x45cm) and so 8 tiles cover the whole floor. Where I have taken up the carpet and pulled up the carpet gripper there are some holes in the concrete (mainly around the edge but some around the original toilet)...

    Two Elbows?

So use one 90 degree elbow to divert the pipe into the wall and then another 90 degree elbow straight away to change direction again? Can I put one elbow up against another elbow?

    Two Elbows?

I have cold water pipe which feeds water to my sink and running along a wall to my toilet. I would like to embed the pipe running along the wall into the wall. It's only breeze blocks. I would like to put an elbow in the pipe so I can then put it into the wall by approximately 30mm, but then I...
