    Outside hose fitting

I had a look at the top one in the shop and due to the cut off tap the flow only comes through a small hole that isn't much bigger than the self cutting tap that came with the kit do you think this is sufficient for a pressure washer?

    Outside hose fitting

I've bought an outside hose kit, it's exactly what it said it would be ( not suitable for pressure washers) I imagine this is due to the self cutting tap that has the same pressure as my late 40s bladder, I've bought a 15 mm Tee compression to replace it, however I can't find a 3/4 male (...

    Reconditioned pcb, now what!

I've just bought a reconditioned pcb for my ferroli 901, I've had one in the past from the same company no problems, when I plugged this one in the leds just come on very faintly and go off, the clock works and the pump runs but nothing else, is this likely to be a faulty board, all wires...

    Possible external expansion tank error

Ok, Ive done all that now , no change , I think theres now a PCB problem , to be honest the external vessel addition went well but now it wont click on ignition and all the relays are buzzing , my theory is this , i think power isnt going to parts of the board , stopping it lighting and also...

    Possible external expansion tank error

I've just fitted an external expansion vessel to my ferroli as the internal one was passing a lot of water, it's created another problem, it all went well, fitted to return pipe ( i double checked) joint eventually stopped leaking but then.... When I fire up the boiler in burns for about...

can I replace expansion vessel at rear of boiler.

Ive bought all the stuff for external expansion , just got to have the bottle to cut into the copper return pipe . ill give it a go tomorrow , just a thought , can I use a self cutting tap into the copper pipe just to confirm its totally drained? , then if it isnt at least I can control it , and...

can I replace expansion vessel at rear of boiler.

I've had a better look, they are actually labelled, cold water in (tap) hot water out (tap) there's another 2 with a radiator symbol, one red, one blue, I turned the heating on and the red one got hot well before the blue so I'm assuming the blue is the return seems to go to the pump, does...

can I replace expansion vessel at rear of boiler.

I've got all the bits now for an external, but Im not really happy about cutting into the copper pipe , can I put a t compression joint at either of these points? I'm not sure where the return is, is it likely to be at either of these points? picture on left obviously from main pipe...

can I replace expansion vessel at rear of boiler.

Thanks I'll bear all that in mind, one final question, can you get flat external vessels?, there is a gap between the boiler and the wall that one would fit nicely in rather that the massive red tank that looks like it should be bobbing about it the sea.

can I replace expansion vessel at rear of boiler.

I agree with all comments, its a brick , its expensive to run and needs tipping , however im skint due to redundancy , ive looked at similar (worcester) and it looks as if expansion vessel can be lifted from the back with flue and bracket removed (if i go ahead I wont be doing that part) , I...

can I replace expansion vessel at rear of boiler.

Evening , The expansion vessel is ****ing water , wont hold pressure , its one of those pain in the backside ones that are round like a steering wheel and on the back of a ferroli 901 , I can see how it all plumbs in and can buy a new one for £50 , however can this be removed without taking...

Should water shoot out of auto air valve?

I've a combi boiler with an auto air valve, the cap is missing, it's been missing for years, when I press the valve down water shoots out, otherwise it doesnt leak at all, I'm assuming this is faulty, I'd appreciate any advice, I can change it if needed for about £20, it's not in the...

Old problem fixed ferroli 901 , new problem turns up

Ok, I know it needs chucking but I'm currently skint so I'm trying to drag it out. My Ferroli 901 used to short cycle, now I don't know if I misunderstood short cycling but the water / heating used to turn off because the Thermistors were faulty, hot, cold, hot again. I always thought...

Electric boiler query , also reviews would be appreciated

My gas boiler is weeks away from the scrapheap , I have a few questions regarding electric boilers , I have a 1 bathroom , 2 bed terrace . according to the info I have read from a size point of view this is suitable. If I get a gas engineer to remove the old one , could I potentially install...

Adding a socket via a junction box clarification .

I've just been up for another look, theres a hell of a lot of red and black wires dissapearing into the unknown one end and just lying around unattached to anything on the other end that don't seem to be live, I'm assuming they are the old wires that have just been left in, another work of...

Adding a socket via a junction box clarification .

I've added spurs before however not via a junction box, all cables currently run up into a one level void ceiling space which I can access but not get into because it's narrow, it a galley kitchen but all the plugs are at one end with electric wires running to rear which is bathroom...

QUITE SPECIFIC SHORT CYCLING BOILER QUERY , FERROLI OPTIMAX

Good morning , hope you all had a great Christmas , Ive got a optima 901 boiler combi which is short cycling , heating is ok , its the hot water that runs cold, hot, cold. its possibly the heat exchanger , however the boilers too old to replace this part , it wouldnt be cost effective. Its...
