After never owning a ryobi tool, does any one have any good or bad reports of them. Are they pro tools or DIY?

SDS Plus Drill Bit fit normal Chucks

Oh and the plus is the smaller size of SDS, Max, is the bigger.

    Best SDS drill for brickwork

its all down to what size bits you will need to use. How far does your DIY stretch? anything 30mm or less in standard brick/ block and a 2-3kg machine will do you fine, my personal preference is L shaped design, a bit more power without much extra wieght, better balance and a bit more compact. I...

SDS Plus Drill Bit fit normal Chucks

problem is because they do not have a uniform shaft, they often do not centre properly, so a 7mm bit gives you a 9mm hole. Great in a way, less drill bits required! bad if you wnat a good fixing. Other than that they are fine, an SDS bit is made of a far higher grade of steel needed for the...

    dewalt offer

looks like Dewalt have hit the £99 combi band wagon, this is their latest model as well, it is Nicd rather than Litium, but what does that tell you about what they think of their drills! http://www.screwfix.com/prods/73596?cm_sp=AOVDriver-_-Cordlessdrills-_-Dewalt18V&ts=18178 Milwaukee...

    Weedy drill for concrete

do you not have a mains powered drill? or does one of your mates? percussion drills are all about rotation speed, mains drills are quicker, so drill better. even if you have got an old, cheap, falling apart black & decker, you will find this more effective.

    Which Cordless Dewalt Drill/Driver

get yourself down b&q or screwfix and pay 99 quid for a dewalt or makita combi. both the drills you have chosen are very old models, which does not make them bad, but there is better out there. combi also offers greater versatility.

Dewalt DW 742 & DW 743 flip table saws

the 742 was an attemp to take cost out of the 743. appart from the trigger it also has a slightly thinner table & sides, and has a plastic motor cover instead of cast. it ended up retailing for about 100 quid cheaper. And not a lot of people know that!!

    Small Cordless Screwdrivers

Ok, I am going to be slightly biased here, but for good reason. The makita & bosch are both good tools, but the Milwaukee gives you 12v in the same size as the bosch & makita 10.8v. Personally I would go for the impact every time. Once you have reguraly used an impact, you will never go...

    dewalt offer

B & Q and screwfix are the same people, so they often share deals. The dewalt is the 'compact combi' so its the lighterweight version of the dewalt top of the range. with cordless you pay for the batteries, so this is the bit that often differentiates the 'hot deals' look out for the...

    under tile heating

picked up a bargain undertile electric heating kit. wire based rather than mat. Question is what to lay on the chipbaord floor before laying the wire. The floor obviously needs a sub-base, is 12mm ply fine, then cable, or do I need tile backer? should I then use a primer like thermo coat, or...

Can anyone recommend a Sliding Mitre Saw?

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T DO IT! If you fed the rexon steroids for a year, it had 2 sex changes to implant some manhood, and you encased it in an inch of lead so the cheap chinese motor did not deafen you everytime you switched it on, it would still not be half as good as the original & still...

    Dewalt plunge saw

As in Festool plunge saw - or plunge cut saw to be exact. Circ saw with plunge action, runs on rail. If you have never used one, I very much recomend it. Staight as a bench saw, almost as good a cut , half the area needed.

    Dewalt plunge saw

I am afraid I am not that witty. I was chatting to someone the other day who mentioned Dewalt were now making a plunge saw, I cannot find any reference to it on interweb, wondered if anyone else out there had seen one, or knew what it was like.

    WHICH CORE DRILL HELP PLEASE

The quality of diamond cores are measured in a few ways. Concentricity of the core, the quality, quantity & positioning of the diamonds, and the material used to bond the diamonds on the cutting face. Problem is which are the best, and how do you compare? Use a good tool/hire shop, the guys...
