    Earth rod for EV charger

As a member of NAPIT, I would say that to comply with the regs 722.411.4.1 as laid down options 1 & 3 were not available to him and only option 2 could possibly work, the location of the earth rod may have been dependent on site conditions, ie local services such as drains, water mains...

After some advice: Mild tingle from shower when in use

I have just had a similar case where I was contracted by a "shed" to install a electric hob, There was a potential voltage of 80 volts. This took 2 skilled men 3 days to find the cause and 40 mins to rectify. There is no way any time element can be estimated before hand. What I would say at...

Yes I realise that people were talking about 3rd party certification, however this seems to suggest there will be no certification required, and DIY'ers can just go ahead and install kitchen sockets and outside lights.

"Apparently kitchen electrics are about to be removed from building control and council approval, allowing DIY work to go ahead unnotified as from April" Has any one heard this officially from their Electrical body?

Problem with hot water system heated by SOLAR panels

    Help - Induction hob confusion

This is normally because most induction hobs have a depth of 50-55mm and with a double oven the height of the oven compared to the unit frontage height is very tight for space, and depending on whose kitchen units you have the oven may need to be dropped down 20-25mm, some double ovens are...

    Is this legal?

Under Corgi, sockets are allowed in kitchen cabinets with the exception of the cooker/hob isolator. However this workmanship is very poor; cables must be clipped to the walls, Junction box fixed in a accessible position, cable shealthing enclosed within enclosure.

    sealant used in Hob recess

I think most of you have misunderstood the poster, although in all fairness this is more akin to kitchen fitting. The manufactures of the worktops usually request that cut outs in worktops should be sealed, normally this is achieved with either upva wood glue or silicon, this is usually...
