    Heating / Cooling a loft room.

    Best way to heat a loft room, prefer not to extend central heating. Does 1 need much heat would a couple of convector heaters do, or should I look at some form of storage heater. What about in the summer does it get unbearably hot will it need aircon. Your views appreciated.

    Window sills

    What can I use to level out the surface of old stone window sills. They have already been painted so its something that sets like ---- and can be overpainted, but gives me a smooth finish, somthing like car body filler comes to mind. I used external polyfilla but the frost got to it. Any Ideas

    SWA into ground

    Do I have to install ducting, how deep do I dig, I have read somewhere that half a metre is adequate if marker tape is used, and to top it off what reference method do I use to calculate current carrying capacity.

    Homemade light fitting

    Ive come across a light fitting made up of bits off wood and about 20 lampholders about 40w each no metal in sight, if a note is made on a periodic inspection form that this has been found does it then pass over to the owner whether he has it removed or not.

    loop test

    I have a 60 m run of swa protected by a 30 ma rcd when triying to do a loop test at the furthest end it trips the rcd the tester is a megger cm 500 so it shouldnt trip if I then go to the RCD and do a 15ma test on the rcd it does not trip its getting on my ---- as i have to walk 60 m to reset...

    Would an RCD trip faster if it was located at say the shed socket rather than at the consumer unit or would the difference in time to trip be in milliseconds and not worth worrying about.
