hi fellas,im new to this forum and would appreciate some advice.my daughter has just bought a hotpoint built in oven with 0.98 kw output,it has a white cable and 3 point plug all ready fitted, coming from the rear, does this mean it will plug into your existing ringmain or will it need to be wired in independently.thanks for any help you can offer

If it is a typical domestic cooking single oven, of typical 600mm cube size, wiith a 13A plug attached, it will typically be about 2kW input, and you can run it off a socket. However it is preferable to use an electric cooker circuit if one is available. The oven and its cable should be protected by a 13A fuse (or possibly a 10A fuse but the instructions should say). A double oven can't run off a plug and socket.

BTW when you say "oven" I assumne you mean "oven" and not "cooker"
