Hi, just bought a Hotpoint single oven and a ceramic hob.

The oven came with a 13A plug and the Hob came hardwired no plug.

The current setup is 10mm cable to a cooker switch above worktops which has a socket on it.

Then 10mm from the cooker switch to a cooker connection under the worktops.

This is from a 40A RCBO at the CU.

Now I was wondering what the options are for connecting this.

Connect the Hob to the cooker connection under the worktop. Then the oven would either remove the plug and connect in here too although it is fitted with a 13A plug so was thinking no.

Other option would be to Spur off the cooker connection under the worktop and install a single socket?.

What is the best option and would the cooker plug need to be above the counter or it ok to leave under the worktop?

Any help is much appreciated

Spur from connector and fit socket or -

replace oven flex with 6mm² flex and connect both to connector (double outlet are available) or -

have an electrician ensure undersized oven flex is suitable for fault current and fit both to connector.

Thanks for reply.

Probably be safer with a spur off the cooker connection?.

Would this be with 2.5mm T&E?.

So would have the 10mm from the switch above the counter, the hob and a 2.5mm cable connected to the cooker connection?.

Then a single socket connected to the end of the 2.5mm cable?.
