04 Ford Focus brake disc and pad replacement

Hi all,
Bought new pads and discs for my focus, MOT due next week. Need to ask a question about the locking nut/nuts, as i was quite a car enthusiast back in South Africa, I used to do all my own repairs. What I have never come across is this type of locking nut with tabs, I think I've broken the first one( hehehehe) bent the tabs open and they snapped off, proceeded to loosen the lock nut and I have 4 seperate nuts!! can I buy the locking washer seperate ? Is there not a nylon locking nut alternative ??

Are these the back discs, mate?
If so, you just wind the nut back complete with locking tag - if its the same as the drum type.
