Hi all,
Sorry if this question has been answered already (I couldn't find it anywhere), but I am thinking of getting a shower pump fitted but am not sure if I should get a 1.5 bar pressure pump or 2 or higher actually. Is there any difference really? It is just for the shower the rest of the water pressure in the house is fine except for the shower. Also where to fit it our builder says it can be put under the bath tub is that ok?

Thanks

Hi

There are more questions than siting a pump. I would advise you get recommended plumbers round to survey and price the work. In the meantime the Salmander pumpwise questionare on their web site http://www.salamanderpumps.co.uk/ asks you a series of questions aimed at helping choose the best pump.

Thanks for your reply,
I did just what you said and the salamander pump people emailed me back, They recommended not to put the pump under the bath but near the hot water cylinder tank, however space is v limited there and most of what I have heard or read say under the bath is fine,
What do other people here think?

Andy, because as I said earlier there is no space to put it near the hot water tank, and isn't the point of this forum about getting other people's opinions. If you haven't go anything constructive to say why bother replying??

Shelly, sorry, I didn't mean to sound abrupt. What I meant was Salamander are the manufacturers and by definition are the experts.

If it is fitted anywhere else, other than where they have recommended (which is always by the cylinder) the guarantee will be null and void.

I have a shower pump myself and although space is limited, it has fit in the airing cupboard in front of the cylinder very well.

Does it really say that in the instruction booklet or guarantee terms included with the pump? It sounds to me more like a recommendation. After all, Salamander did not say "You must site the pump next to your hot water cylinder".
