Hi
I have a straightforward single light in the loft, which is a single switch connected to one light.
I've just fitted an external security light and have brought the cable into the loft and am trying to connect it to this switch.
I therefore have 3 cables coming into this switch.
1. The power cable (1 red, 1 black, 1 earth)
2. Cable from loft light (1 red, 1 black, 1 earth)
3. External security light (1 red, 1 black, 1 earth)
To connect it all up and have two independent switches I bought a double switch, which has two rows of connectors
Row 1 - L1, COM, L2
Row 2 - L1, COM, L2
But after literally hours of trial and error I am unable to get it to work properly.
I've also spent a bit of time searching this forum but have ben unable to find clear instructions on what wires should go where.
I'd be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
cheers
