hi

i have a circut for a prev cooker in my house that is 6 mm cable, when some building work was done a section of 10 mm cable was added to the 6mm circut. the circut was not to be used and was deactivated as we went to a gas cooker.

We have just switched to a dued fuel cooker, gas hob and electric oven, re activated this circut added a switched cooker point and upgraded to the appropriate rated rcd or mcd. when the circut is powered up all is fine until the cooker switch is used, this causes the house to trip.

the cooker has been tested by pulgging in to a 13 amp circut and each of the oven components activated in turn causing no trip.

Is it possible that using 10 mm and 6 mm cable on the same circut causes extra demand at the time the suitch is used causing the trip?

the wire needed for the cooker is a minimum of 6 mm and maximum of 10 mm.

What device trips?
MCB
RCBO
RCCB

You will find RCBOs and RCCBs have a test button on them.
Was this circuit not used as a power point to ignite the gas appliance previously?

I would suggest some investigation at any cable connection points. look for in correctly terminated cables, loose and/or damage cables.
Did you have any thing plugged in to the cooker switch socket (if a socket there)?
Was the circuit the cooker tested on, also protected by RCD protection.
