100mm building blocks measuring as 90mm, why is this?

Has anyone else noticed blocks advertised as 100mm are actually nearer 90mm. Why is this? I feel Ive been short changed.

usually because

"sizes quoted include 10mm mortar joint"

apparently to make it easier for you to calculate how many you need
 
If within tolerance they should be no less than 95 mm, otherwise classed as seconds, bet you did'nt pay seconds price though.

Thanks for your replies. I did the job over a year ago now and blocks are doing ok. This was Jewsons selling these blocks. I shant be using them again.
 
I had an idle mind and fingers yesterday and the girlfriend was out so I thought id put them to use here :D
