10mm² Cable for a Shower

I need about 12m of 10mm² T&E cable for a shower as the shower is rated at 11kw @230v and 11.5kw @ 240v, but everywhere I've asked for it says they only sell the round stuff.

Anyone any idea where I can get some 10mm square T&E cable?

I've got about 12m of square 6mm cable but I don't think it will be rated high enough.

Most electrical wholesalers will sell it to you by the metre. Or you can get it online at many places including http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CA10G.html

A square root of a number is such as y² = a
Fortunately this problems is resolved easily for Scoby_Beasley's shower issue, as it's the number that is square, therefore BS7671, allows the cable to be round.

Actually, in the regulations, Twin and earth is described as flat cable.

Am I a bad person because I use it in houses and bungalows as well?

Most likely. I once had to redo a re-wire in an old Toll House as I'd used flat t&e and not round cable (flex).

Same as military housing should only be wired in armoured cable.
Kipper houses in LSF.....
