110mm solvent Tee question

Can I ask - Is the other one possibly from one of the other sheds like TS?
Yea the grey Tee is from one online store. And the black reducer is from another. When I use a gauge to measure the diameter of the opening on the grey Tee it’s exactly 110mm and when I measure the black reducer on the 110mm end it measures at approximately 108/109mm

The reason I ask is the TS have a make of plastic called Aquaflow and it seems to be a different size to the other manufacturers. Every other maker is just about interchangeable - as they should be given the nominal BS sizes of the pipe and fittings should be just about the same same.

Real nightmare when someone else has used it and you come along with standard fittings to make alterations and they are the wrong size.

As above, all 110mm stuff, above and below ground, solvent or pushfit should be interchangeable, it's the Tool Station stuff that seems to be the exception now. Rather suspect they may be trying to encourage their customers to stick with their brand, but as Madrab has said, it doesn't help when you come across it and need to connect, when you've pipe and fittings from one of the many other manufacturers that you find doesn't fit properly....

Not sure if their is a case there for British Standards to look at as the TS stuff isn't to the accepted standard we've always worked with.

So I picked up the 110mm coupler from screwfix where one side is 110mm push fit and the other side is 110mm solvent. But the solvent side is designed for a 110mm solvent pipe just like the grey Tee that I have. So I now need to put a small piece a 110mm pipe to join the screwfix black coupler with the grey tee as pictured in the attachment. The original black reducer that I was having issues with seems to fit very snugly into the push fit end of the new screwfix black fitting that has the push fit on one end. Which makes me believe that reducer was push fit all along.

But now here’s the dilemma. I’m looking on all the major stores, screwfix, TS, b&q, wickes etc for a solvent 110mm pipe but every single pipe these guys are selling all say ring seal and it has a sort of ring push fit on one end. So I just cannot seem to find anywhere that actually sells 110mm solvent weld versions of grey soil pipes. Anyone know where I can get this? The ring seal ones I’m assuming are not solvent weld types and won’t weld or fit tightly in solvent fittings?

Most soil pipe these days is PVC-U, even the single (ring) socket ended pipe and as long as it is PVC-U then it can be glued. Most cements will also solvent weld ABS and PVC
