really struggling now, i need to make a timber frame so that i can screw some 12.5mm foil backed pb to it, but i cant find 12.5mm wood anywhere the lowest thickness i can find is 19mm.

the main reason is the door will not shut if i come off the wall too much.

i was going to stick the boards but have found out that you cant stick foil backed board with drywall adhesive.

any suggestions guys,

For what reason are you using Duplex (foil backed) PB?

stop the stud 38x63mm minimum short off the door then for the last part a sandwich 12mm+12mm+12mm with plywood in the middle

if you turn the last stud round from 63mm being the depth to 38 the additional 12+12 will make up the difference [38+25=63mm]
so in other words the other skin will be flat on the studs with the near plasterboard and ply behind the timber
