I have load of 150w lamps for the old style floodlight.
My Question can I use these safely in a 120W watt pir flood

does it say maximum lamp 120W on it ?
Good question - but, if we're talking about PAR38s, I doubt that it will say that. 'Once upon a time' standard PAR38 floods were 150W (which I guess is what the OP has). However, they then introduced 'higher efficiency' 120W ones, which allegedly had the same light output and which became 'the standard', but I rather doubt that they 'downrated' the holders at the time. Of course, I may be wrong, so the OP needs to look!

Kind Regards, John

Your going back a bit john, didnt they change again from 120w and became an 80watt.

I reckon he has RX7 lamps

Indeed they did, but I was talking about the first stage in that progression (from 150W to 120W, then to 80W), given that the OP said he had "120W floods".

Kind Regards, John
