12v drop bolt to loft hatch - wiring help please

To add the standard "drop bolt" should be vertical not horizontal.
So a magnetic lock should be better and a bit cheaper, but use a 1amp PSU and keep everything out of the way so it cannot be switched off.
And dont forget the battery back up.

I quite like the idea on certain levals, if only because there are a lot of crap loft-latches out there that are either ugly, hard to make an air tight hatch, or both. However I too would be looking at a remotely released pull-cable operated latch rather than a mag latch.
