15-60 Grundfos Pump Failure

Hi There,
I had a new boiler put in about 9 months ago (EdenVBX18), and since that time the pump has failed 3 times - for the third today. The last time it failed a new one was put in (15-60), however it has now stopped working again.
I have been told the reason is that I need to flush out the whole of the system as there may be sediment blocking the pump. Last time this happened the plumber just took the front cover off and dislodged the fan. Is this possible to do with this pump before I call someone out?

If anyone can give me any advice on how to do this so I can get warm again that would be great!

Your installer clearly did not power flush the system.

Its his responsibility to ensure the system is clean but perhaps you refused to pay him for flushing?

As you have already been advised the system needs cleaning.

You have not mentioned the installer or who replaced the pumps or paid for them so I am left thinking that you have not told us the full story?

Hi - No i Dont think they did flush the system- although they are saying they did! I am having conversations with them at the moment - however everyone is denying responsibility at the moment!
Do you have any recommendations for the short term before I do get the system flushed?

You can gather circumstancial evidence by considering what else they may not have done!

Specifically did they complete the Benchmark Certificate supplied by the manufacturers?

Did they notify CORGI who then sent you a blue Certificate in the post?

You can complain to CORGI if they failed on the two above points but they will have no direct involvement in the dirty system. Your only recourse is through the Courts and you will need to have full documentary evidence of the extra expense you have been put to.

Grunfoss will usually clear large hard bits of carp no bother you either have a really mucked up system or a fault external to pump as in its power supply
