I'm just about to fit out my kitchen with some new appliances and have a Bosch combination micro which requires hard wiring to a 15A supply. My question is, can this be done via a spur off a ring main, or do I have to run a radial from the consumer unit. (I understand about part P but am outside of the UK so it doesn't apply luckily :D )

It will almost certainly run off a 13A plug or FCU. If you haven't already got a spare radial circuit you could put it on the ring (if in your country they use such things).

Thanks for the replies. A bit more info to answer a few questions:-

It's rated at 3380W.

I could run a new radial to it, but it would be a very messy and difficult job to get the cable neatly and safely to the location soI'd prefer to spur off the ring if poss. About 7m to the CU

I'm in the Channel Islands so electrical installations are exactly the same as the UK, we're just regulated differently.
