16mm x 16mm PVC trunking

Does anyone know when this came into being?
There was a scene at the end of 'Life on Mars' last week where you can clearly see a run of open trunking running up, the wall but this was supposed to be set in 1973.

Trivial question, I know, but good sparkies should have good attention to detail.

I dunno the answer, but it would have been measure in inches in the 70's, wouldn't it?

16x16 has been around for aslong as i can remember

I was using it in 1975 as an apprentice so it's been around a while
