Hello chaps,

Does anyone know where to obtain .pdf pages from the IEE regs?

Photocopying them and scanning the odd page is too long winded.
Any ideas.

BTW New to the forum here. Looks like a really useful resourse.

I dont think you will get a free one.
If you are familar with 'bit torrents' you might find a copy

I have a copy of all the regs, GNs and OSG on my laptop but the license has expired and i can't access them

Bit torrents? I'll google that, i've never heard of it...

It's Bittorrent - and its a system for distributing files which is sometimes used for locating such things........apparently 8)

This does raise an issue for me though - given that BS7671 is supposed to be the 'bible' for all reference, I don't see why some of the important tables, etc. should not be provided free of charge for reference. Making the full book so expensive surely just puts some people off from obtaining it and fully understanding the regs.

I know the OSG has many of the tables, but it is only supposed to be a guide and it is sometimes important to be able to read the full reg to understand the reasoning behind it.

A cynic might suggest that someone is using an opportunity to make easy money, but I couldn't possibly comment  .

(just splashed out for GN3 and found it mostly large format version of OSG )

:D I (ahem) have heard of limewire. The search engines for them (apparently) bring up the illustrated guides. Well written and easy to understand but lacking the invaluable tables you mentioned. I'll keep my eye out 8)

I've never heard of the licence expiring.

Are you sure you've got a proper copy?

I had a licence to print my own EIC, Minor Works & PIR from the IEE it was free and lasted 7 years

YES but you are supposed to ask for consent and agree only for personal & private use (not to print out and sell to another sparky for gain) and aknowledge the source.
This lets them keep the copyright whilst allowing you to use them
