1995 Corsavan hot start problems

I have a problem with my N reg diesel Corsavan.

When I drive it and switch off it will not restart, when I turn the ignition key it sounds very slow in turning as if it has a flat battery, but if i leave it approx 1 hour and switch the ignition, although for a split second it sounds very slow in turning it will instantly fire up.

I don't think it is the battery as it restarts after an hour.

Any ideas would be greatly apreciated as it was a pain being stuck in the petrol station last night for an hour.

Probably a duff starter, although, when was the oil last changed?

Too long ago if i am honest, I don't remember the last time the oil was changed.

Do you think that can cause it then???????

wel, if the oil is a bit thick and gooey, it wont help.
Cheaper than a starter motor and if it needs doing anyway its worth getting it done

I will change the oil over the weekend and see how it is before looking at the starter motor.
I will let you know how I get on.
