Hi

I've just bought a replacement built-in single oven. The previous oven ran off a 13amp socket.

The instructions for this new oven (Zanussi ZYB594X) say it can be installed using a 13amp plug and 2.5mm² 3 core butyl insulated cable. There are some comments on other threads here that you can put 2.5mm cable in a 13amp plug - is that right?

Any suggestions - and where is the best place to buy a metre or two of this cable?

thanks

Providing the cable is heat resistant and the output of oven is suitably rated for a 13A plug.
Then Yes
Any electrical wholesalers will sell the cable/flex, most will do you a measured cut. You can also buy on-line at TLC Direct and QVS as well pick it up at the big sheds, such as B&Q, homebase, Wickes etc... but you will find that you will end up with a length of 5 metres plus from the sheds

Might be worth using something like an MK Toughplug though as the 2.5mm flex will be difficult to terminate in some 13A plugs.
