I am about to attempt to tile a small area myself, and if it looks rubbish I will take the tiles off and get a pro in. My 2 questions are;

When I push the tile into the adhesive on the wall, should the back of the tile make contact with the wall?

Why do tilers 'comb' the adhesive, what does combing do?

Many thanks

i feel you need to read the sticky at the top of the "tiling" section dude, Mr GC's advice should help you out fella.

good on you for trying to do it yourself btw

Without a safety net?! :D :wink:

No, you just need to apply pressure and give a little wiggle. You'll know when the tile adhesive firms up when pressing.

Allows for an even contact.
