HELP!!
I have a 2 gang light switch in the kitchen where one rocker controls the ceiling downlighters and the other controls the under-cupboard small fluorescents and the downlighters in glass door cupboard. The problem is that when both switches are off they are in different positions which I find very annoying. The switch is wired using a 3 core and earth(not used as the idiot electrician who did the work assumed that as the property didnt originally have an earthed lighting circuit there was no need to put one in when upgading the circuits!!!!!)
The switchplate is fitted in a dry lining box so no earth teminals.
Wiring is as follows:
TOP COMMON: Red
TOP L1: Nothing
TOP L2: Red link wire to TOP COMMON
BOTTOM L1: Yellow sleeved Red
BOTTOM L2: Nothing
BOTTOM COMMON: Blue sleeved Red
Could someone advise me how to rewire the switch so that both rockers are in the same position when both sets of lights are off!!
I am quite happy to buy a new switch if that will help.
