Replacing dimmer switches (Varilight which were labelled Slave, Load, Live) with conventional 2 way switches on a landing lighting circuit.

Both switches now work independently (ie. I can switch on-off from each switch, but not off from the other?).

Is their an easy way to find the 'common'?
I thought I had used the Live from the Varilight to the common on new switches?

Have multimeter if it helps ...

Thanks

One switch has 3 wires
The other has 3 sets (from two wire feeds in) - See pic for this one:

I've got a Grey - Brown - Black at the other switch

(The Black had been wrapped with red tape - Common ?).

The Brown and Blue from the same cable go in L1 and L2.

The Brown, Black and Grey from the other cable go one in each terminal - it doesn't matter which as long as the same colour goes in COM at both switches.
