2 Way Varilight Master and Slave question

I'm trying to work out which of my switches on a 2 way circuit I need to make the master and which is the slave. The link above provides much help but unlike this guy, I've got 2 gang affairs daisy chained around the entire downstairs and have 3 and 4 two core + earth (in addition to one or two 3 core + earths) in most of my sockets making it tricky to see whats going on.
