Hi,

I cam across some Gewiss 24v sockets and plugs and also a transfomer from screwfix with both 110v and 24v plugs on it....

What are 24v sockets and plugs used for? there are not power tools for them.

Thanks

Interestingly googling 24v sockets comes up as only (I think) Italian
I suspect it's got a lot to do which what testing they choose to do, hence what they can 'claim' as the spec of the product. I would have thought that one would probably have to try extremely hard to design and manufacture a plug/socket that could not cope with voltages greater than 24V!

Kind Regards, John

24v Inspection lamps are very common (possibly a requirement?) in vehicle inspection pits. Usually used with either a purple CEEForm/Commando type plug or one of those 2 pin Duraplug LCPs as used on garden tools...

1,000,000V is > 24V and I'm pretty sure there's very few sockets that would happily cope with that.

Now you're being silly - I'm sure that you know fully well what I meant!
