Anyone tell me where to get manual on above and specifically how to you tell if the 3port diverter valve is defective. How do you change it ? It seems really difficult to change the valve or is there an easy way. Much Obliged
if it isnt working it wont motor over. if it has been changed before the screw for the head will be facing you so engineers can change the synchron without taking the whole thing out first, otherwise the screw is facing up right under the expansion vessel making it impossible to get at. it needs to be drained then there is two silver clips that hold it in place, just slide them out and pull the valve towards you
Changing the valve looks straightforward - but they don't fail very often.
You can tell if it's working by creating CH demand (via programmer and room stat) and watching the little lever on the side of the valve move slowly down over about 10 seconds.
IF YOU'RE COMPETENT WITH ELECTRICS....
If the valve doesn't move, check pin 3 of terminal X6 on the PCB for 240V ac. If it is, the valve's stuffed. Looks like it might use a standard synchron motor, allowing it to be repaired rather than changed but don't actually know.
