I have a 3/4" bore lead water supply pipe. I have cut it back to where it enters the house. I wish to feed my house system via a whole house water filter, including the combi boiler. The static pressure is just under 4 bar. Should I use 22mm pipe to and from the whole house filter? I also wish to T off an unfiltered supply for the toilets and garden, should I T off in 15mm before the filter?. The filter suppliers say I need to get a qualified plumber to fit it, but even if I do, I need to lay in the pipes before I get to that stage. Advice welcome. Thanks. Matt

Why not remove the entire length of lead supply and replace with MDPE. That way you eliminate future problems of lead in your drinking water.

I would but it involved digging up a lot of concrete and connecting to the water main. Would have to pay the supply company to do it. The filter is for chlorine and other pollutants. Matt

Some service companies will run a new supply line using a mole technique which doesn't involve trench digging - apart from the start and finish ends.

I may check out the cost of that, thanks. I would still like to know what to do if I'm stuck with the lead. M

MattFR,
its possible to abandon the lead and then part trench & part drive a long steel under any concrete path or driveway at the most convenient position.
MDPE can then be snaked through the opening/tunnel.
No mole machinery necessary.
