Hi Guys, thought I'd change my broken 3gang light switch in my hall.

It does - the porch light

It does the hall light - which has a 2nd separate switch by the lounge.

It does the landing light - which has a 2nd separate switch on the landing.

I noticed the new switch I have does not have any COM ports. Just L1 and L2. my original had 3 COM and one N Loop as well as 3 L1 & L2 ports.

Problem is... I forgot where they all go.. school boy error. Can anyone help. If not I will just call and electrician.

I could use my original broken socket for now if the 3 COM ports are essential. But would need to be able to wire back my original one properly.

Can anyone help??

Well L = COM, L1 and L 2 is the same.

Your new switch does not have an N loop terminal so you will have to put the Neutrals in a connector block.

IF, IF, IF the two blues on the left were in the N loop then put them in a connector.
The two browns that are from the same cables as the two blues will go to L and L1 of the switch for the porch light.

We will require pictures of the other two switches to have any idea how to determine what the other wires do.

Thank you. 2 blues were in N. So will put them in a wago. Hope you can help with the others. Cheers

Ok.

That means the downstairs landing light and hall light must both have
Grey in COM
Black in L1
Brown in L2
Each from the same cable, of course.
We don't know which yet.

Can you wire the porch light as I have said IF IF IF the two blues were in N. Can you remember?

Either way -
Do this

and then separate all the wires and position them so that we can see which wires come from which cables - and which two browns are the marked ones..

Porch light is working.

These are the rest in their groups from the cable.

Those 2 were not necessarily the correct 2 together as I had moved them and put others together as well. Silly I know.

I now have light from each switch... but the hall light just stays on? It is not effected by the switch?

The black one going in with the brown is blue. You cant see from the angle though
