Actually I won't be quoting to do the rewire, which is why I was asked to do the inspection, no conflict of interests. Even if the original installer was identifiable I doubt after 20 odd years there would grounds for a come back. Too many other parties involved I expect.
If I was doing it then yes I would go RCBO etc. I may yet be asked to write a tender specification.
