I am replacing a 13 year old acl lifestyle 3 port valve with a honeywellV4073A. The wires on both are the same ie 5 (orange, white, grey, blue and green/yellow earth.

Am I ok to simply connect the new colour wires to the existing points.

Thank you Corgiman. You've made my day. Excellent.

PS

Any tips on removing the old olives? Removing the nuts was problem enough!

you should have just left the old nuts and olives on as they will fit the honeywell.

if you have cut them off then just cut the olives off with a hacksaw, be careful not to saw into the pipe though.

Do turn off the power to the heating system before you start !

AND check for voltage with a tester that you immediately confirm is working afterwards by using it on a live circuit.

Thank you all for the advice. Up and running with no leaks. With the money I'll save by not using the immersion I can tax the car.
