hi,

I am looking for a 3 way gang switch to individually power 3 ceiling spotlights. I have seen the diagram attached but cannot see anything available to purchase. Does the terminal block have to be external to the switch or is one available all in one?

Thanks in advance.

Typically you'd use a separate terminal block to join the neutrals. However, at least one manufacturer provides a neutral loop terminal on the switch itself, as noted here.

For the earth, with a metal plate switch you'd use the earth terminal on the switch itself to join them together, with a fly lead from the switch to the earth terminal in the metal backbox being good practice; with a plastic switch you'd use just the earth terminal in the backbox.

With that number of cables coming to the switch I'd use at least a 25mm backbox, 35mm if it was easy enough to do.

It's no big deal to connect the neutrals to a piece of cinnector block tucked in the back box.

However, if you insist on having a switch that has a built in neutral block, use Hager or Schnieder.

But it's hardly worth worrying about.
