hi am fitting a fan assisted 4.9kw doulble oven and am using 4mm cable and a 32 amp double pole switch is it safe to put the switch below the work surface with easy access available or would there be a better way of doing it also would a 32 amp mcb be sufficient

What distance does the cable run and it what environment?

cable is running about 8m from the consumer unit and is enclosed in trunking for about 4m and the other 4m through joists then running down wall behind plaster board the last 4m the cable is on its own and the first 4m it is in 75mm x 75mm plastic trunking but this would be with other cables would it be better to put it on its own -

Yes - put it above the worktop.

I'm curious to know how you managed to make a successful application for Building Regulations approval, which would have included how you planned to ensure compliance with Part P, without already knowing that.
