why is 32mm waste pipe different even though it says 32mm. the stuff in diy stores is 32mm and fits push fit, but does not fit solvent 32mm angles?????

because you are meant to use one or the other, not mix n match.

pushfit joints have an o ring to seal them, solvent weld dont and nead..........solvent to secure them. I am not sure but i think solvent weld, the solvent melts the pipes slightly to give a watertight joint

I think that you will find the solvent weld really dissolves the plstic!

It would have to get to about 140° C to melt it !!!

i know, but why does one pipe 32mm fit the solvent joints but not pushfit and vis versa. is 32mm not 32mm?

becasue as i said they are not meant to be used as mix and match, so the only way to stop people from doing it is to make the pipe thikness different.

HI

because one is measured 32mm internal and another measured
32mm external ?
