36mm Basin waste pipe

Hi,

I'm plumbing in my bathroom basin. The waste pipe is 36mm OD, having googled it I think it's pipe intended to be used with solvent weld fittings.

I need to fit an S-trap. Will a 40mm compreesion S-trap fit ok or do I need an adapter bit?

The pipe is measured by the inside diameter, yours is a standard basin size of 1 1/4

And so an 1 1/4 waste is what you need, no reducer nessacary

Basin waste should be 1 1/4", same as the pipe so you should need a 1 1/4" (32mm) trap. Compression waste is universal, will fit all plastic waste pipe and majority of other materials.
