Hi,

I'm just fitting a FCU for my boiler, running a spur of a socket in the same room which is on the ring main. Now on a previous thred someone said to use a 3amp FCU for the boiler. So just been to B&Q and they only had 10amp and 13amp FCU. So i bought a 13amp FCU, which lets you change the fuse. But it doesn't say wether you can put a 3amp into it? Would it be ok? I can't see why it wouldn't but want to check

Cheers in advance.

13A is the maximum rating for the FCU not what it should be fused at. So the 3A fuse would be fine.

ALL FCUs are 13 amp.

The 10 amp "FCU" you saw was likely a lightswitch ;)
