Seems the main concern is smoke in the stairwell which I suppose is fair enough

I’m assuming 2.6 formalised that decision into the regs and if that decision were out of date I doubt it’d be on the gov.uk website but let’s see what BC say

There are whole generations of laws, regulations etc out there- mainly so actions from the past can be judged against the regulations that applied at the time. So don't lose hope yet....

The determination from 2011 was for a listed house in a conservation zone....again is this for your house or is it just a downloaded case ? If its yours planning would have lapsed by now if you had not started the project....

Hi just for anyone that might find this post - I spoke with Building Control (Lambeth) and they confirmed that a I would indeed need the sprinkler system installed. Plans abandoned!
