hi
got a problem,im trying to change a 1 way light switch for a single light, which i have done before ok,but when taking it off there is 4 wires, brown, black, red, blue, the green an yellow wire is wired in at the back of box,the problem i have is the switch i want to change it to has L1 at the top,L2,L3 at the bottom, where do i put the 4 wires....please help

Is it just a normal light? If you join the black and blue together with a piece of terminal block, the red to L1 and the brown to L2 it should work, just checking that there isn't some odd reason why it was wired to what sounds like a DP switch.

Are you trying to replace a 20A DP switch with a 6A 2 way switch? :?

yea its just a normal light,1 way switch replacing it with another 1 way switch...
will try tomorrow when its light, thanks for help,if i get stuck i will be back, lol

Please tell us everything that is written / embossed in to the back of both switches, especially current ratings and number of poles.
