Mrs Mottie is 5’4” and uses one of these to reach into the higher shelves in our cabinets. No, I am short! only abt 5ft 3 why do you ask?
Or under a 500mm top box or bridging unit, though it would be too high to reach for storage. It would hide the duct and the top of the hood. You could even use a 500mm door as a dummy, just to fill the gap, and fixed or hinged to the units on either side.50cm cooker hood would fit under a 50cm cupboard , they don’t fit inside the cupboard ?
I'm redesigning part of my kitchen in a very cramped space.
I have never bought new kitchen units before and wish to ask, if I buy this 50cm wide cooker hood will it fit into a 50cm wide wall cabinet? I suspect 50cm is the exterior width of the cabinet and so internally it will be a couple of cm narrower. Is that right or am I missing something?
For example, I bought a 60cm wide oven and it fitted into a 60cm wide base unit.
thank you for help
Your link points to a 50cm hood. I would expect that to fit in a 60cm cavity.
A 50cm unit will have an internal area of 50-(2*1.9)= 462cm
Oh, and what is it with your profile picture being lifted from istock? You are not obliged to submit photos (of yourself someone else)?

Why are you searching the internet for my profile photo? Trying to get my real name and location?
Not at all. And unless you were daft enough to make both public domain, how would I be able to do either?
I am always suspicious when someone on this site posts a (human) profile picture. My internal cynic alarm starts ringing. From time to time we get spammers or what appear to be bots. On occasion, they will use a lifted stock picture, presumably because it makes them look legit. If you are neither, I apologise.
Are you now saying that you have decided to drill through the wall, above the hob and just below the ceiling cabinet, and fit a regular extractor fan?
Edit- I see from your latest thread (posted just before your last post in this thread), you have now decided to forgo an oven or fixed hob and will use two single counter top hobs and an air fryer...

That's not really my eye.
You misread it then.We looked it up in building regulations.
It is.Even if it wasn't the rules a fan is a good idea to get the cooking smells and steam out of the kitchen.
